Crumbless docs
Crumbless runs your brand’s marketing with a team of AI agents. Chip, the CMO agent, plans the work, hands it to five specialists and asks you before anything ships. These docs cover the developer side: the CLI, the MCP server and the API.
Quickstart
Three steps. Only the first is required; the CLI and MCP server are there when you want them.
Connect your brand
Sign up at crumbless.app and give Chip your website. It reads the brand (voice, products, audience) and drafts your first week. Connect the social accounts you want it to publish to under Settings → Platforms.
Install the CLI optional
Node 20 or newer for npm; Homebrew on macOS and Linux; or the install script.
npm install -g crumbless-cli crumbless login brew tap crumblessai/tap && brew install crumbless crumbless loginConnect the MCP server optional
Add the remote server and sign in once with OAuth when the browser opens.
claude mcp add --transport http crumbless https://mcp.crumbless.ai/mcp Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector https://mcp.crumbless.ai/mcp Server URL: https://mcp.crumbless.ai/mcp Transport: Streamable HTTP Auth: OAuth (sign in to Crumbless) npx skills add crumblessai/crumbless-cli --skill crumbless
Nothing publishes without you. Every post, article and campaign waits for your approval: in the app, with crumbless approve, or by replying to Chip on WhatsApp, Telegram or Slack.
The CLI
A single open-source binary (AGPL-3.0). It is a thin client of the API: anything you can do in the app, you can script. Pass a brand’s slug to every command.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
crumbless login | Sign in from the browser and store a token. |
crumbless brands | List your brands and their slugs. |
crumbless dashboard <slug> | A brand overview: plan, queue, results. |
crumbless content <slug> --status pending_user | Posts waiting for your approval. |
crumbless approve <slug> --all | Approve everything waiting. |
crumbless post <slug> <id> edit --caption "…" | Edit a post’s caption. |
crumbless post <slug> <id> slide --index 1 … | Edit one slide of a carousel. |
crumbless plan <slug> | The editorial plan. |
crumbless weekly-plan <slug> produce --week 0 | Produce this week’s posts. |
crumbless seo <slug> | SEO grade and open initiatives. |
crumbless geo <slug> | Visibility and citations in AI answers. |
crumbless keywords <slug> | The keyword strategy. |
crumbless web <slug> | Blog articles, drafts included. |
crumbless studio <slug> add-note --text "…" | Add knowledge to the brand. |
crumbless ai <slug> --message "…" | Talk to Chip, with full access. |
Run crumbless --help or crumbless <command> --help for every flag. Full CLI reference →
The MCP server
The Crumbless MCP server puts your brand inside any MCP client: Claude Code, the Claude app, Codex, Cursor. It exposes sixty-two tools, grouped like this:
| Group | Tools | For example |
|---|---|---|
| Brand content | 21 | Read and edit posts, carousels and captions |
| Web and SEO | 15 | Articles, keywords, SEO and AI visibility |
| Studio | 12 | Brand kit, products, knowledge |
| Plan | 10 | The editorial and weekly plans |
| Sign-in | 4 | Authentication and brand selection |
Connect it with one command (see Quickstart), then ask in plain language: “What is waiting for my approval on Daylight?” MCP guide →
The API
REST over HTTPS, JSON in and out, at https://crumbless.ai/api/v1. Authenticate with a Bearer token: your session, or an API key that starts with crumbless_. Endpoints that spend AI require a paid plan and credits.
Responses shown are samples. API reference →
